Catching Up: April 2009

Just for kicks I thought I'd go through and pick a few photos from each month that I flaked out on blogging. You know so there's a bit of a bigger picture presented of our lives than, "Hi, it's been 9 months and now we're having another baby." We have experienced much grace in the past 9 months and I know it would do my heart good to remember that grace!

So...beginning in April...Here's Andrew with adoring daughter. What you wouldn't be able to tell from the photo is that my sweet husband is in severe pain and discomfort. He suffered through 5 months (Feb.- July) of a bulging disk pinching a nerve in his neck. There was pain and shooting numbness down his arm, yes, but the real trouble was that he couldn't sleep. Needless to say, it was a long semester for him, but God did graciously sustain, teach, and grow us through it.

We spent Andrew's Spring Break up North with the Ray clan and even had a day beautiful and warm enough to visit some beaches on the North Shore of MA. It was not, however, warm enough to swim, but in a moment of deft quickness (while I was taking my shoes off 10 feet away and Andrew was holding the video camera) Michaela splashed/sat down in the 5 inch, 50 degree break water of Good Harbor beach in Gloucester, MA. Oh, did she squeal!!! and Oh, did I not have anything to change her into...other than her winter coat. So here she is, undaunted and still wanting to enjoy the beach. That's my girl!!!

While with the Rays, Uncle David stole M's heart even more (is that possible?!). Here she is snuggling with him after just waking up from her nap...usually this time is Mommy or Daddy ONLY, but not when Dave is around I guess! Very sweet.
