Catching Up: June 2009

June was a funny weather month. In my ill-health I remember
desperately looking forward to the warmth of summer sun which just didn't show much. Thankfully we did have this beautifully clear day where we scooted to the NJ shore for the afternoon of catching rays and dabbling our toes. Michaela had a blast! Don't be too jealous of her style here!

We continued to take advantage of our closer proximity to New England and headed up to visit the Rays again in June. This glorious day was spent at Singing Beach in Manchester. The biggest adventure here...other than keeping Michaela from bodysurfing...was when a hoss of a seagull sauntered over and snapped up our ziplock baggie of grahm crackers. Michaela was horrified, but soon recovered in the excitement of watching her mother chase the brute bird down. I was victorious and Michaela talked about the seagull who "stole our lunch" for weeks!

Andrew and I celebrated SIX YEARS of marriage on June 21st!! Mimi and Papa graciously took the tyke  and we enjoyed a beautiful night away at an inn on Bass Rocks in Gloucester. Great waves!

During this month as well, my mom renovated two rooms in the house and called in the backup support of my brother as pro painter. That meant that "Uncle Pete" was around for a couple weekends and Michaela enjoyed every moment. Check out that bear hug lovin!
