Last Post Until Snow

Today has been great...and we haven't even been swimming yet. The day began with malasadas. Fried portuguese sweet bread donuts. How could a day not be great that begins with those!?!? We ate together and dabbled over coffee while Sophie assumed her favorite game with her favorite feline, Kai (age 18years!). I've been extremely impressed with his patience with this small intruder who is only just learning the word "gentle"...if you catch my drift. After nap we walked the short trail to Hilltop House for a family gathering. This house, I believe, is a registered historical home and is like nothing you've ever seen...unless of course you have seen it. The house was built on rocks...really. My great grandfather built it and my second cousin and great aunt currently reside there. It really is an art form. It's also a child's dream home. Full of secret doors and cubbyholes and windows that reveal sea and sky. All this introduction to say, we thoroughly enjoyed our family picnic AND exploring. A sweet time. And with that, I'll leave with the final set of photos from this trip. We fly out Sunday night! Aloha!
