May Celebrations

In the month of May we got to celebrating two important ladies in this little household.

On May 7th, Nani turned 63. She opened a bag of bulbs...

And was elated over her very own copy of The King's Speech.

Three generations of wild smiles!

And then the best (confusing to Sophie) part of all?!?! Cake, of course! Yay Mom! Love YOU.

A couple weeks later, the day after we returned from Boston, it was Michaela's real birthday.
Sometimes these things are so exciting, M can't even look!

Amidst much readjustment frenzy, we managed to make the day special...thanks to my mom who decorated in the morning, then rearranged her day to come with us on a birthday outing.
Sophie came too...and was a (somewhat) good sport even in the rain.

We led Michaela blindfolded to this double-decker carousel, complete with leather-saddled steeds with real metal stirrups. It was pretty exciting!!!!!

Nani and M...

Getting good shots, once-upon-a-whirling-carousel, is tough.

That evening we revealed a new dress-up dress for M. This face tells all

Ta-Dah!!

The next day, we got ready for our family-friends party...these friends waited in the window for our guests to arrive.

This par-tay was.....
Complete with balloons.

A twirling-with-excitement-birthdayGirl!

Good, clean chaos.

Friends at the "princess" table.

Friends to support Mommy.

Friends willing to be seated on our radiator! Amazing.

And really yummy food.

And, of course, Cake.

"Fee, Fi, Fo, Fum, I've got some tasty cake in my Tum." I just can't get over this daughter of mine's facial expressions. Obviously.

Happy Birthday, my beautiful butterfly.
