June 15th, 2013

On a beautiful June morning my dear friend and neighbor folded and brushed and pinned these golden locks into a "ballerina bun".

An adoring sidekick and fan picked out her new favorite "rose dress" and we all piled in the car to drive into Norfolk for Michaela's first ballet recital.

Tallest in the front row, second from right.

The recital itself was quite an experience. I'd never done anything quite equal to it. There were a lot of little girls with tulle, lace, and lycra. And a lot of support for everyone...very packed performance hall! Wild. The things of most importance, however, were present. Support, Love, Pride (the good kind), A sense of Accomplishment. All good things. After the mass exodus from the Hall to home, we decided a few more photos (in light) would be good, so to campus we went.

the set up...

The fountain miraculously flowed for about 3 minutes at just the "right" time...and then went back to sleep.

Precious.

one of my favorite Soph expressions.

spent dandelions always add magic, don't they.

So very proud of my elegant girl.
