One of my favorite things about age 4 is how seamlessly the worlds of imagination and reality interact. Sophie has made significant leaps in her sitting and listening power and thus has heard a great many more portions of stories recently. It's been wonderful for every party involved.
Sophie (age 4):"Well, the reason I had to get out of bed was because I saw a shadow .Was is Michaela's shadow??"
Me: "Yes."
Sophie: "But it didn't have a dress." (whispering in awe) "Maybe it was Peter."
We've also had some lovely lines from Michaela girl...processing the world through and through. I overheard this one between two dragons of all things!
Dragon1: "Why are you being mean to my family?"
Dragon2: "I just don't like them."
Dragon 1: "Well, if you just give them grace we could all have a cupcake party together!"
And this made me swoon:
Michaela: "Mom, what holiday comes next?"
Me: "Mother's Day
Michaela: "Soooo me, Daddy, and Sophie will have to plan something."
Me: "Yes. (jokingly) Plan something for your dear old mother..."
Michaela: "You're not old, but you are dear. Dearer to me than all the stars in their courses above."
