More Snow Days

Oh, GLORY. Just sorting back through our bevy of photos has made me smile this morning. Here are a few more shots from Storm #1...

I got out for an early morning cross country ski before the roads were plowed. I love this sport!

Since my sweet mother's knees can't hold up for skiing anymore, she's taken up snow-tube dog racing. Bayleigh is a great musher!

OK, last one from storm #1 and with this and the next one you'll get a good idea of our amounts. Take note of how high the snow is measuring against my 3 foot, purple-suited snow bunny: here it's just above the knee...

And HERE post second blizzard (19 inches, 5 days later) you can see the piles at almost arm-pit height!

Pristine Beauty.

This snowman was built by our neighbors a few houses down. I couldn't get over it. Such a work of precision and poise. I don't know if you can tell, but this guy had a full-sized trash barrel for a hat AND it was totally proportional as you can see. Impressive huh.?!

Heading home from the snowman through the sidewalk tunnels!

Thanks to some gutter caps my parents had installed last Spring, we've had a brilliant display of icicles!

This one my dad plucked from a second story window and it's been standing guard along our front walk for the past few days.

During the first storm we began work on our very own ski hill quickly dubbed, Mount Michaela. The second storm added some much needed snow depth to increase the base, stability, and riding quality. Here is Daddy and Michaela headed down!

"Dad, we made a new Wec-ohwd (record)!"

Snow angels with Grandpa!

Now you might be wondering what Sophie has been upto with all of us playing our hearts out in this winter wonderland...well, you know, she's just been hanging out keeping cozy...

...taking rides on Bayleigh...

...and getting a head start on learning the history of Biblical Counseling thanks to her Grandpa's dissertation that was newly published last week! Hooray for Grandpa!!!
