Catching Up: July 2009

With the month of July came much rejoicing. I entered my second trimester and my nausea faded gloriously away AND Andrew's neck began to make a turn back in the right direction...literally. With the pinched nerve he had to hold his head at an angle for 5 months, but in July relief arrived and over the span of 10 days he completely healed. Oh Hallelujah...our celebration was great indeed!

Early in the month we headed South to meet all the Rays for a week of vacation on Bald Head Island, NC. It was a blast! All 5 cousins (ages 4, 3.5, 2, 2, and 1) had an absolute ball and we quite enjoyed ourselves as well. Beautiful beaches, beautiful waves, great wildlife, the joys of family fellowship, and no one got sick until the end of the week! Here's a sweet shot of Michaela and cousin Julia, who are only 4 days apart in age, waiting for the ferry boat to take them to the island. Concentrated anticipation!

I unfortunately didn't take a lot of great shots during the week and out of 20 or so of the cousin photo shoot this is the best I got...2 smiles and 4 outta 5 faces looking at me! Oh well. I'm sure you can still tell how gorgeous all these kiddos are. My sister-in-law, Kim had these fabulous letter shirts made for all of them. SO FUN. I'm excited we can add another little one to the clan. From the left: Michaela, Abigail, Julia, Nathaniel, and Evan.

Another delightful summer affair happened at Candlewood Lake, CT. Pete's wife Keri has a family house right on the lake and so we met up with them and my parents for a couple days. What fun we all had! Tubes, and waterskis and canoes, Oh my! My brother took this photo with his really nice camera and I love its various components: my dad looking lovingly at our little girl with the blonde spout atop her head, the lake beckoning, and the life-jacket flying overhead. Great shot, Pete.

This is our neck redemption photo!!! Thank you, LORD!! Hooray Husband!

I don't know if my other comment showed up- i closed the window too early maybe.

Just wanted to say I'm so proud of you, Gwen. You're really tackling these blogs and doing an amazing job. Cute stories, a few pics...well done. I could never do that.

I love you so much- its great feeling like we've chatted on the phone; i forget for a moment that the Atlantic ocean separates us. ;)

Love you!!!
